I guess the pandemic situation was by itself quite alarming and made people little more conscious towrads health, but still adding to it do not wait for any disease or disorder hit you and make you release your responsibiltiy towards your health. Do not take your body for granted. In the long run it is the only thing that is going to accompany you. Stepping into hostle life is like by-default you are going to develop habits of staying up late, eating junk, no sleep schedules and you dont release how much granted you take your body. If not before, now is the time you start with some healthy practices for your body, including yoga in your schedules. As there is a technology to create external wellbeing, there is a whole dimension of science and technology to create inner wellbeing and it starts with yoga. The college has introduced a yoga club this year to help students prioritize their first and foremest component of life ie- health. All the interesting activities of the club will be discussed in the coming sessions ahead

A Tale of Balance ...

Yoga is not a therapy or just a form of exercise; it is a way of living.

Yoga and Ayurveda, one of the richest forms of our culture, are not taught in schools or colleges. It baffles me that we teach physics and chemistry, but not yoga and Ayurveda. Yoga is something which connects our body to our soul. It’s pretty surprising that we miss out on something that can drastically improve our lives. My dad always insists on health and fitness being our highest priorities, sometimes even more than academics or career. He says our body is our abode and should be cherished and cared for.I used to wake up at 4:30 am, when at hostel, to practice yoga. Due to lack of space, I used to visit a hall for practice which was, sadly, seldom full in the morning. When the Indian culture was emerging, we had the concept of gurukul. Practicing yoga was an integral part of it. Gurus preached that one should regularly practice yoga, at least, from the age of 16.
